Jay grew up in Eastern North Carolina. He attended East Carolina University and in 1995 graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He began working as a superintendent for a builder in Chapel Hill. It was during his first job out of college that his passion for building homes began to unfold. In 2000 Jay naturally progressed to developing his own company.
